Whats is Laylatul Qadr

In the blessed month of Ramadan, Muslims around the world seek an extraordinary night – a night more precious than a thousand months. This is Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Power, a night that marks the first revelation of the Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

What makes this night so special?

“The Night of Glory is better than a thousand months”

The Qur’an itself affirms the rewards for worship on this single night surpass those of 83 years of continuous worship!

When is Laylatul Qadr?

While the exact date of Laylatul Qadr remains unknown. The Prophet Muhammad advised Muslims to search for it during the last ten nights of Ramadan, with particular emphasis on the odd nights.

So how can one maximise the prospects of encountering this blessed night?

First, increase your acts of worship, especially during the odd nights of the last ten days. Recite the Qur’an attentively, perform extra prayers, make sincere supplications, and engage in dhikr.

Indeed, ˹it is˺ We ˹Who˺ sent this ˹Quran˺ down on the Night of Glory.

Seek forgiveness, renew your faith, and commit to becoming a better person. For those who witness Laylatul Qadr with true faith and sincere intentions, their previous sins will be forgiven.

“And whoever spends the night of Laylat Al-Qadr in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”

Strive to make the most of every moment in these last 10 days. Ramadan Mubarak!
