The immense love of Allah for Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Sheikh Ahmed from Uganda delivers an amazing sermon in Pakistan on the love of Allah for His Messenger, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In this short excerpt, the speaker reveals that not once in the Quran does Allah call upon His Messenger by his direct name “Muhammad” as He otherwise does when calling upon all other Prophets. For instance Allah states: “O Zechariah, indeed We give you good tidings of a boy whose name will be John.” Quran 19:7 O Adam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden” Quran 2:35 “O Yahya! take hold of the Book with might” Quran 19:12 “O Noah, disembark in security from Us and blessings” Quran 11:48 Yet when Allah calls upon His Messenger, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, He does not use his name, but rather He says: “Oh Prophet, do not obey the disblievers and hypocrites”. Quran 33:1 “Oh he who wraps himself (with a garment), arise (to pray) part of the night except a little”. Quran 73:1-2 “Oh covered one, arise and warn”. Quran 74:1-2 Allah does not call upon His Messenger, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, by his first name, rather He calls upon him with names signifying his noble status out of love and compassion. In fact, the only time Allah does use the Messenger’s name “Muhammad” is to establish his link with the Prophethood and the message he has received. “And Muhammad is not but a Messenger”. Quran 3:144 “Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets.” Quran 33:40 All these examples highlight the love Allah has for His noble Messenger Muhammad ﷺ. They all serve as a subtle illustration of Allah’s close love for His Messenger, that He will only call upon him by names signifying his noble role in favour of calling him by his direct name. These examples are not to downplay the greatness of any of the Prophets, but rather highlight the esteem of the final Prophet, Muhammad ﷺ, the leader of all the children of Adam.
