Don’t be scared Allah is with you

As we enter the month of Muharram and approach the day of Ashura, it’s a perfect opportunity to reflect on the story of Musa and Fir’aun, considering it was on this day Musa was granted victory over the tyrant Fir’aun.

Musa (peace and blessings be upon him) is the most mentioned Prophet in the Quran with 136 mentions. The story of Musa (peace and blessings be upon him) and his people provide countless lessons for us that are ever relevant.

Musa’s Reliance on Allah

When we analyse the story of Musa in the Quran, particularly in Surah Taha, we notice a reoccurring theme and phrase, and that is

لا تَخَف

Have no fear

In multiple instances, Allah commands Musa not to have fear, whether that’s when he was commanded to take the staff after it had turned into a snake, or when he was to approach Fir’aun with his brother and of course when he was to face off with the magicians in the public square.

But behind the command to have no fear, there is one important ingredient and that is, the knowledge that Allah is with us.

We hope you find benefit in this video and of course don’t forget to fast the day of Ashura to obtain a year’s worth of forgiveness!
